Mathematical equations are embedded in the text as transparent GIFs. For best viewing of the equations, the font of your hypertext client should be similar to the font of the equations. In Netscape, you should select the "Huge" Font Style from the "Options" menu. In Mosaic for X, you should set the X resources (in .Xdefaults) as follows:
Mosaic*Font: -adobe-times-medium-r-normal-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1 Mosaic*ItalicFont: -adobe-times-medium-i-normal-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1 Mosaic*BoldFont: -adobe-times-bold-r-normal-*-18-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
We chose a large font for the equations to ensure that they would be legible for most people.
