The chord matcher is a program is very similar to the Color Matcher program, except that users are to match a musical chord with three separate notes, each controlled by a different user. The chords to match vary from a relatively easy major chord, to a more difficult goal of three random notes.

In order to effectively solve the activity, players must coordinate with each other to get the proper match. Players receive a score based on how "close" their chord matches the target.

Here's a picture of the Chord Matcher user interface.

The chord matcher was written as part of the METIP project and was supported in part by the National Science Foundation under grant number MDR-9155709.
