Information about the available softwareThere are four types of digital image processing applications that have been developed as part of the METIP project. The first type of application is the Pixel Calculator. This program allows users to manipulate digital images using simple arithmetic operations on the pixel values. It uses a calculator interface. There are two versions available:
The third type of application is the Transform Programmer. This program allows the user to program arbitrary kinds of transformations on images using a particular programming language. It is more complicated than the other types of applications, but could potentially be more beneficial to a student's education. Currently, only a monochrome version for Windows is available, but color versions for both Macintosh and Windows are planned. Fourth is a new program called PixelMath. This program was developed after the original METIP grant ended, with partial support from other grants, including, most recently, NSF Grant 0537322. PixelMath is expected to be available at this website in the Autumn of 2010. Online Documentation and other resourcesSome of the documentation for using the software is now available online.
