Information Sessions

Direct to Major Information Session

Intended Audience:  Students who are interested in applying to the Allen School through our first-year, Direct to Major (DTM) admissions pathway, directly from high school (or without completing any college coursework after graduating from high school).

  • The Allen School offers an information session for prospective first-year applicants on the first Friday of every month from 3:30 – 4:30 pm PT. 
  • Our Direct to Major Information Sessions are offered on a hybrid basis, with attendees able to participate in person in Allen Center (CSE1) Room 691 – Gates Commons or virtually via Zoom.
    • Virtual Attendees: You will be prompted to register for the session but once you do you will immediately receive the link.
  • During the academic year (October – June), in-person attendees will have the option to stay for a 20-minute tour of the two Allen School buildings, led by our Student Recruitment Representatives, immediately following the session. 
  • Optional: Register with the Office of Admissions!

Cancelations: In the 2025 – 2026 academic year, we will not be able to offer DTM Information Sessions in January, April, or July due to holidays and the UW’s Admitted Student Day.

Transfer Information Session

Intended Audience: Students who are interested in applying to the Allen School through our transfer admissions pathway, after attending a different college or university. Running Start students should attend our Direct to Major Information Session.

  • The Allen School offers an information session for prospective transfer applicants on the second Thursday of every month from 3:30 – 4:30 pm PT.  
  • Our Transfer Information Sessions are offered virtually via Zoom. You will be prompted to register for the session but once you do you will immediately receive the link.

Current UW Student Information Session

Intended Audience: Students who are currently enrolled at the University of Washington’s Seattle campus and are interested in applying to the Allen School. 

  • The Allen School offers an information session for current UW students on the second Tuesday of every month from 3:30 – 4:30 pm PT.  * Due to Veterans Day observance, the November date will move to the 3rd week, Tuesday, November 18th
  • Our Current UW information sessions are offered virtually via Zoom. You will be prompted to register for the session but once you do, you will immediately receive the link.
