On February 1 2013, more than 300 members of the UW CSE "extended family" joined in recognizing the contributions of David Notkin at Notkinfest. During a reception preceding dinner, UW CSE announced the establishment of the David Notkin Endowed Graduate Fellowship in Computer Science & Engineering. The presentation included remarks by Hank Levy, Ed Lazowska, and David Notkin.
