Undergraduate Education

Three officers from the Allen School's Computing Community student group

Our undergraduate programs are open to students who are interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Students can enter these programs directly after high school or after starting college at the UW or another college or university. Note: the Allen School does not offer post-baccalaureate admissions for students who already have a bachelor’s degree.

Bachelor’s Degree Programs

The Allen School offers two undergraduate majors: a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering. Both majors prepare students to design, build, and analyze computing systems while exploring the broader impact of technology. There are three admissions pathways into our undergraduate majors: Direct to Major (first-year) admissions for students entering directly after high school, transfer admissions for students who have completed around 2 years of coursework at a different college or university, and current UW student admissions for students who are currently enrolled at the UW’s Seattle campus.
