Cloud + Big Data = Massive Change, Massive Opportunity

Abstract

Cloud computing is transforming IT, unleashing a wave of disruption in infrastructure, applications and end-user devices unlike anything the industry has experienced before. Ultimately, this disruptive change will enable organizations to deliver IT as a service, dramatically improving efficiency and agility.

At the same time, Big Data is transforming business, government services and research. Data volumes are expected to grow 44 fold over the course of this decade. Locked inside are valuable nuggets of information about the next big innovation, market opportunity or medical miracle.

EMC Chairman & CEO Joe Tucci will outline how organizations are accelerating their journey to cloud computing while adopting ground breaking tools and technologies that are helping to unlock the value of Big Data.

Speaker Bio

Joe Tucci is Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of EMC Corporation. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of VMware Corporation.

With revenues of $17 billion in 2010 and approximately 48,500 people worldwide, EMC is a global leader in enabling businesses and service providers to transform their operations and deliver IT as a service. In 2011, EMC's market capitalization placed it among the 10 most valuable information technology product companies in the world.

Since 2003, Tucci has spearheaded the investment of more than $14 billion in strategic acquisitions to fill out EMC's product portfolio, enter new market segments and expand the company's addressable market opportunity. Acknowledging EMC's rejuvenation under Tucci's leadership, Barron's named him one of the world's Best CEOs in March 2011.
