Mission statement
The Allen School’s Undergraduate Student Services Team (USST) empowers our current and future students by providing compassionate, accurate, and equitable support from exploration to graduation. We broaden access to computing by building inclusive pathways, fostering community, and connecting students to resources & transformative opportunities that support their educational journey.
Vision statement
We envision an Allen School where students from all backgrounds have equitable access to computing education, feel a sense of belonging, and are empowered to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. We aspire to foster a diverse student body, a curriculum and community that support all learners, and an Allen School pipeline from K–12 to career that is inclusive, well-resourced, and connected to our broader communities. We aim to shape a computing field that is representative, ethical, and makes a positive impact on society.

UNDERGRADUATE ADVISING
The Allen School Advising team strives to provide relationship-focused advising and holistic support to solve problems, navigate barriers, & empower Allen School students in their journey through higher education.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & ACCESS
The Student Engagement & Access team aims to attract & educate the next generation of computer scientists and engineers who reflect the population of Washington state and the needs, backgrounds, and experiences of technology users globally.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
Our Program Operations Specialist serves as the primary individual responsible for curriculum management and coordination of filling more than 300 teaching assistant (TA) positions per quarter.

Fun Facts: At various times in my past I’ve studied Hawaiian dancing, Krav Maga, sailing, improvisational theater, and was an avid Husky Marching Band member back in my ‘college days’ (Clarinets Rock!). These days family life is a bit more mellow and I love hiking, camping, biking, and friends and family.

Through clearly defining the scope and boundaries of our roles, we can ensure consistent and realistic support for students while prioritizing staff well-being. We aim to continuously examine our practices, document procedures and advocate for the resources necessary for continuing success.

By promoting a growth mindset, we empower all Allen School students to confidently navigate change, expand their knowledge and approach learning as an ongoing process. As a team we are dedicated to cultivating a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages us to identify areas of improvement, learn from one another, be receptive to feedback, and keep up-to-date on new policies and best practices in higher education.
